Color dye
Natural, all-natural vegetable ingredients, all organic. One of the reasons why antique lovers desire a century-old rug. Please note that a vegetable dye fades away in color over time when exposed to sun (when displayed or placed on the floor). As the color fades away, you may see a portion of a rug fades differently from another part on the same rug. This is perfectly normal because when those natural dyes were produced over a century ago, each bottle or unit of dye contains slightly different amount of ingridents as they were collected and processed all manually. These various fades are the very feature that antique buyers seek. Nowadays, manufacturers of modern rugs sometimes imitate this fading feature in mass-produced rugs. Note that the origin of this relative new "design idea" comes from the antique world.
