All organic, all pure vegetable dyes. Note that in the blue background of this rug, the "blue" has unevenly faded over the 100+ years. It is precisely this feature that antique-collectors look for because it is a sign of authenticity. Nowadays, some manufacturers imitate this fading effect on new rugs. There is a world of difference between a genuine piece and imitations. You choose according to your need and desire.

Color dye
All natural, all organic, all vegetable dyes.
Please note that a vegetable dye fades away in color over time when exposed to sun (when displayed or placed on the floor). As the color fades away, you may see a portion of a rug fades differently from another part on the same rug. This is perfectly normal because when those natural dyes were produced over a century ago, each bottle or unit of dye contains slightly different amount of ingridents as they were collected and processed all manually. These various fades are the very feature that antique buyers seek. Nowadays, manufacturers of modern rugs sometimes imitate this fading feature in mass-produced rugs. Note that the origin of this relative new "design idea" comes from the antique world.

Remark
Shown in the pictures are: front, front-rotated, front with a corner folded, close-up to see knots, back, and back close-up.
We believe that it is important to show all these detailed pictures for several reasons. The back is also important for highly valued rugs because the back is really the "soul" of this rug. The last two of the seven pictures are the back side of this rug.
One of a kind due to the nature of handmade.
